Robert selects a very limited number of
commission subjects. He has a made a
conscious decision to painting only thoroughbred
racing subjects. He appreciates all the offers to
paint other breeds and other sports, but this
specialization adds to the quality of the paintings
and protects their current value while providing the
greatest opportunity for long term appreciation of
his paintings.
While past performance can not necessarily reflect
future performance; his paintings have appreciated
by 500% over the past five years. This fact is a
result of supply and demand, the demand for his
artwork is expanding dramatically as his notoriety
in the thoroughbred industry increases.
His customer base is a small, but elite group
including many of the top owners in the sport of
horse racing. If you are interested in learning more
about having your champion painted....
Additional costs - -
Source materials - generally come from
professional photographers who specialize in
thoroughbred racing.
These photographers own the right to the images,
even if the horse’s owners have bought a
photograph. These photographers are usually
easy to work with on a fee basis. This fee is
usually a few hundred dollars. Any charges for
photo usage are added to the cost of the painting.
Shipping and framing -not included in the prices
listed above. These costs are handled on an
individual basis, but generally the shipping of a
fully insured piece of art is a $100 - $500.
Taxes – pieces sold in Florida are subject to the
Florida Sales Tax of 6%.

Robert Clark wants to thank Mr. William Warren, owner of Saint Liam. The artist painted Saint Liam based upon the silks worn during his 2005 Horse of the Year campaign highlighted by the Breeders’ CupClassic championship.
|
|
|
Warren asked Bob to change the silks to “HIS” silks that were really pink and Irish Green.
To help get the color right a package arrived with the pink and green silks. The web site’s gallery shows the pink and blue silks, but the artist’s daughter is holding the final product based upon the silks she’s modeling.
